Paul is not your typical “techie”!
Paul first worked with computers and electronics in the early 1980’s. As a self-described “UNIX geek” he worked as a professional UNIX server administrator for more than two decades, and first taught information technology courses (UNIX, Pascal, C, Intro to Networking) more than 20 years ago at a local junior college.
Today he enjoys teaching how technology can improve personal productivity, and provide more effective communication, as he provides technical consulting to businesses throughout the Chicagoland area.
As a Toastmaster for several years, Paul has achieved his Advanced Leader – Bronze and Advanced Communicator – Bronze designations, presented at District-level training sessions, and held various offices in his local club and District.
An avid motorcyclist, in 2005 Paul participated in an “Iron Butt” Saddlesore run which covered more than 1000 miles in less than 24 hours. More recently he has participated in two Lake Michigan Circle Tours, though at a much more recreational pace than the Saddlesore run.
While continuing to work with current technology, Paul also enjoys “retro” digital pursuits, such as the revolutionary personal computers of the 1970′s and 1980′s, and the midrange systems of that era.
